With so many unlimited data plans on offer—and various interpretations of what “unlimited” means, exactly—choosing between carriers isn’t easy.

So I’ve tried to do most of the work for you. In this guide, you’ll find a comparison of unlimited data plans from Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T, along with everything you need to know before casting your lot with a major carrier. While these carriers will draw you in with cheap or free phones, you may be served by alternative providers that charge less for cellular service.
