Apple and Google Pay, explained

Ever find yourself at the checkout line without your wallet? Apple Pay or Google Pay might be able to spare you from an abandoned cart.

The two digital wallet services have been around for about a decade now, and retailer support has improved so much over the years that it’s now hard to find a store that doesn’t accept them. Even Kroger, one of the biggest remaining holdouts, quietly added both Apple Pay and Google Pay to its vast array of supermarket brands in the spring of 2023.
