As I’m now in Las Vegas with the annual CES trade show getting underway, I would describe my current mood as anticipatory.

I know lots of tech journalists who get jaded about the show, but not me. Even if it’s not the most important tech event of the year—that honor might fall to an Apple or Google keynote, perhaps—it’s still a great opportunity to see what’s on the tech world’s collective mind, discover neat gadgets, and link up with likeminded geeks.
