A hidden iPhone scrolling trick

Welcome to Advisorator’s Tip of the Week, helping you learn something new from the tech world every Tuesday!
Thanks to this recent BGR article, I’ve learned of an easier way to scroll through long lists in many iPhone apps:
- While swiping up or down, look for the little scroll bar on the right edge of the screen.
- Press and hold the scroll bar until it gets a little thicker and you feel a tactile bump under your finger.
- Keep holding your finger down and slide it up or down the edge of the screen. The scroll bar should stay under your finger and you’ll scroll much faster.
This little trick doesn’t work in every app, but I’ve had success with it in Messages, Safari, Gmail, Slack, and Ivory, among others. (Sadly I haven’t found an equivalent trick for Android phones.)
