For the past week, I’ve been dabbling in a search engine that looks nothing like Google.

It’s called Perplexity.ai, and instead of presenting you with a list of search results, it tries to answer your questions as if you were talking to another person. Each response draws on multiple sources—with citations included—and allows for follow-ups to fine-tune the results.
