Don’t rush into Amazon’s new gadgets

When it comes to fall gadget season, no one floods the zone quite like Amazon.

In addition to the new Fire TV devices and larger Kindle Paperwight e-reader it announced earlier this month, the company has now revealed a 15-inch Echo Show smart display, an 8-inch video calling device for kids, an $80 touchscreen fitness band, a $60 smart thermostat, a $50 Blink video doorbell, a home alarm system that doubles as a Wi-Fi router, and—strangest of all—a $1,500 robot that can both patrol your home and deliver drinks. (Amazon’s also now taking invite requests for the Ring home security drone it announced a year ago.)
