The fact that it&#8217;s about half the price\u2014$20 list, but routinely on sale in the $15 range\u2014also helped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Still, Eufy&#8217;s lower price and phone-tracking feature come with some notable downsides that make an actual AirTag worth considering instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Find My and more<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Eufy tracker\u2014officially dubbed the (deep inhale) <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B0B8GDXPBL\">Eufy Security by Anker SmartTrack Link<\/a><\/strong>\u2014is one of several third-party item finders compatible with Apple&#8217;s Find My network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Find My taps into the iPhone&#8217;s popularity to locate items even when they&#8217;re not connected to the internet. If an iPhone passes within Bluetooth range of an item with Find My support, Apple updates that item&#8217;s last known location so you can see it on a map in the Find My app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"723\" src=\"https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/eufyfindmy-1024x723.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7716\" srcset=\"https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/eufyfindmy-1024x723.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/eufyfindmy-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/eufyfindmy-768x542.jpg 768w, https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/eufyfindmy-1536x1085.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/eufyfindmy-100x71.jpg 100w, https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/eufyfindmy-150x106.jpg 150w, https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/eufyfindmy-200x141.jpg 200w, https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/eufyfindmy-450x318.jpg 450w, https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/eufyfindmy-600x424.jpg 600w, https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/eufyfindmy-900x635.jpg 900w, https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/eufyfindmy.jpg 1616w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Apple&#8217;s Find My app<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of that distributed nature, people have used AirTags to keep track of car keys, purses, pets, luggage, drones, beloved stuffed animals, and anything else that&#8217;s liable to go missing in the outside world, all without the ongoing cost of cellular-based trackers. (They&#8217;ve also used it for stalking, hence the creation of <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/119874\">unwanted AirTag detection<\/a> for iOS <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/tech\/mobile\/how-to-find-out-if-your-android-phone-is-being-tracked-by-an-airtag-and-what-to-do\/\">and Android<\/a>.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Eufy tracker&#8217;s Find My support means you can locate it in the same way. It appears under the &#8220;Items&#8221; tab in the Find My app, and its location will update on the map whenever another iPhone, iPad, or Mac is close by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Eufy&#8217;s tracker offers a few extra tricks that AirTags lack:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There&#8217;s the aforementioned &#8220;Find Phone&#8221; function, which plays an aggressively loud rendition of &#8220;BINGO&#8221; on any devices where you&#8217;re logged into the Eufy app.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Eufy app also works with Android devices. It won&#8217;t display updates from the Find My network, but if the tracker is within Bluetooth range, you can tap the &#8220;Find&#8221; button to play a sound on the tracker and get notified if you leave it behind.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The tracker itself has a keychain loop, so you needn&#8217;t buy an extra accessory for that purpose. It took me a while to realize you can just ignore these features and use the versions built into the Find My app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chintzier design:<\/strong> Eufy&#8217;s plastic tracker isn&#8217;t as well-built as the stainless steel AirTag.
