But after way too much fiddling around with automations and connectors, I&#39;ve got something that sort of works in reverse:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Post to <a href=\"https:\/\/writing.exchange\/@Newmy\">my Mastodon account<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/skymoth.app\/\">Skymoth<\/a> re-posts it to my <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/advisorator.com\">Bluesky account<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>A couple of Make.com automations re-post it to my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.com\/@onejarednewman\">Threads<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jared-newman-5a3a501\/\">LinkedIn<\/a> accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Another Make.com automation re-posts it here on my Advisorator.com blog.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of posting on my own site first, I&#39;m using Mastodon as the source, mainly because I&#39;m enjoying myself there so it&#39;s the easiest place to post from, way less heavy than starting from a WordPress post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Skymoth was easy, but everything else wasn&#39;t. Threads, LinkedIn, and WordPress all require slightly different automation steps for text and image posts. Threads and LinkedIn require further distinction for multi-image posts. And on top of that you have to filter out things like replies and @ mentions. But I&#39;m already using Make for other automations, and eventually it was able to handle all those cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why not just set up a social media cross-poster like Buffer? I&#39;ve tried it, but it&#39;s just not an enjoyable way to be on social media when you&#39;re posting for yourself, for fun. This setup provides similar benefits but feels more organic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notably this is just for little social media posts, which I thought it&#39;d be fun to reflect back here on the blog. For longer posts like this, I&#39;ll publish here first, put a link out on Mastodon, and then let that link post propagate elsewhere.
