It’s not due to a shortage of apps, but rather the opposite: AI has made it so easy for anyone to generate an app that it’s led to a glut of new software, thrown together with minimal effort or care by people with little or no coding experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re not ready for what’s going to happen next. As the future of software becomes and endless stream of unvetted AI slop, you’ll have to become more discerning about which tools you use. Otherwise you could wind up wasting your time, harming your computer, or even putting your security at risk …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amazon’s Alexa tablets:<\/strong> Amazon is no longer hamstringing its tablets with its own limited app store. Its new line of “Alexa” tablets ship with the full Google Play Store instead, just like any other Android device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amazon’s putting out three versions: An 8-incher for $230<\/a>, an 11-inch model for $330, and a 12-inch “Pro” tablet for $500<\/a>, or $600 with an attachable keyboard. They’re clearly trying to undercut Apple’s iPads, while still offering premium-feeling aluminum bodies. It’s an easier argument to make when there aren’t huge holes in the app selection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
