It will be more conversational and will work with information on your screen, for instance to add details from an online event listing to your calendar. You&#8217;ll also be able to review past conversations through a dedicated Siri app. (Under the hood, it&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/company-news\/inside-google\/company-announcements\/joint-statement-google-apple\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">running on Google&#8217;s AI models<\/a>.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One especially notable AI feature: Apple Passwords will be able to <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/apple-intelligence-can-change-your-passwords-for-you-when-you-get-hacked-2000769041\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">automatically replace your weak passwords<\/a>, with iOS 27 navigating through websites on your behalf to set stronger passwords instead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parental controls are <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/26\/06\/08\/revamped-parental-controls-are-coming-to-iphone-mac-and-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">getting more granular<\/a>, and Apple says it&#8217;ll do a better job helping parents set things up in the first place.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MacOS 27 Golden Gate will be the first new release that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2026\/06\/09\/macos-golden-gate-marks-end-of-era\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">doesn&#8217;t support Intel processors<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As usual, the updates to iOS 27, MacOS Golden Gate 27, and so on will arrive sometime in the fall. We&#8217;ll do plenty of digging in once the new features are actually available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nvidia&#8217;s PC chips:<\/strong> Nvidia is moving beyond graphics cards with its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2187889\/nvidia-rtx-spark-chip-could-give-windows-its-true-apple-silicon-moment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RTX Spark chips for laptops and desktops<\/a>. The goal is to compete not just with Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm, but with Apple on high-end laptops for gaming, creative work, and on-device AI. A slew of Spark-powered laptops are on the way from the likes of Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus, MSI, and Microsoft (with its forthcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/hands-on-with-the-microsoft-surface-ultra\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Surface Laptop Ultra<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A lot of questions remain unanswered, including particulars on performance, battery life, and cost, though you should expect the first wave of laptops to be wildly expensive at the outset. While the privacy-centric search engine offers its own AI features, it also offers a few optional ways to turn them off:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Head to <a href=\"https:\/\/duckduckgo.com\/settings#aifeatures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DuckDuckGo&#8217;s AI settings page<\/a> to disable AI-generated answers and images.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use <a href=\"https:\/\/noai.duckduckgo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DuckDuckGo&#8217;s &#8220;No-AI&#8221; landing page<\/a>, which disables those features by default.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Install DuckDuckGo&#8217;s &#8220;No-AI&#8221; extension for <a href=\"https:\/\/chromewebstore.google.com\/detail\/duckduckgo-no-ai-search\/faoilnlkccdjdkpljainiiimmijofmpd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chrome<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/addons.mozilla.org\/en-US\/firefox\/addon\/duckduckgo-no-ai-search\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Firefox<\/a>. This will set DuckDuckGo as your default search engine with AI features disabled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>DuckDuckGo isn&#8217;t alone in letting you turn off AI answers, though:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Google<\/strong> lets you add &#8220;-ai&#8221; to the end of your search to omit AI overviews. You can also set up Google to <a href=\"https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/advisorator-guides\/three-steps-to-fix-google-search\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">show you its AI-free &#8220;Web&#8221; results tab by default<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Brave Search&#8217;s<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/search.brave.com\/settings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Settings page<\/a> has an &#8220;Answer with AI&#8221; toggle that you can turn off.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kagi<\/strong> only triggers AI answers when you add a question mark to your query. I like this opt-in approach, but you can also <a href=\"https:\/\/kagi.com\/settings\/ai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">disable AI answers entirely<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>AI search answers are appealing because they remove the friction from looking up information online, but you often have to <a href=\"https:\/\/advisorator.com\/members\/2026\/05\/27\/treat-ai-like-an-unreliable-witness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interrogate them to make sure that information is accurate<\/a>. Hold the designated dictation key on your keyboard\u2014right Cmd by default\u2014and you can voice-type into the text field of any app. It uses on-device AI models to clean up and format your speech, with no subscriptions or usage limits. (That&#8217;s a key distinction from other apps like <a href=\"https:\/\/wisprflow.ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wispr Flow<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/superwhisper.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Superwhisper<\/a>, though those options at least support Windows as well.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There&#8217;s also <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/google-ai-edge-eloquent\/id6756505519\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an iPhone version<\/a> which lets you copy and paste the text into other apps.
